The objective of this paper is to make a balance of the achievements and
results obtained by the research group based at the University of Cádiz and
dedicated since the beginning of the 21st century to implement in Spain the
perspective of the sociology of philosophy, applying it in particular to the
history of Spanish thought. In the first place, the main theoretical and
methodological assumptions that characterize the sociophilosophical approach
are exposed. Next, and following a chronological sequence, the main
contributions of the “Cádiz group” in this field are considered
